Tell us about yourself
—I am studying in TYBBI and I am from a commerce background.. I have joined this course because I always had a curiosity to know the various functions that a bank performs.
How does it feel to be the Class Representative of the class?
—I have been the CR for the past 3 years. It makes me feel proud to be one out of the few. I always wanted to be the one who represents the entire class which motivated me too become a CR.
What do you mean by leadership? Tell us about a time / describe a situation when you have proved you have better leadership skills.
—Leadership according to me means taking the responsibility and fulfilling it in the best possible way.
Along these 3 years I have always acted as a leader of my class during presentations to make arrangement for the required things and also been a voice of the entire class during appraisal & recommendations regarding various issues.
What are the most important values you demonstrate as a leader?
—Team spirit, listening to everyone’s opinion, makes sure everyone gets a say, maintaining a good image of the class and getting things done by distributing the responsibility.
Does a leader need to be motivated? How can leaders maintain themselves to stay motivated?
—Yes, leaders need to be motivated. They can be motivated through various incentives and also be impacted through various great leaders like Ratan Tata .
What is the most difficult part of being a leader?
—The difficult part of being a leader is that people take us for granted and refrain from taking any initiative themselves. Major responsibilities are being thrust upon us and we alone need to figure out the way to do it.
What is your greatest strength and weakness as a leader?
—Strength – Being a CR I can influence my classmates in a positive way. I am very determined and focused.
Weakness – I think I get so obsessed about completing the task given to me that I tend to neglect other important things for a time being.
According to you, what is BBI all about?
—My stream BBI forms an integral part of all self finance courses as Banking and Insurance is most important in the daily routine even to the most common man. Banking and Insurance enhances the financial literacy of each and every individual.
As a student, what changes would you like to bring in Indian education system?
—The most important is to include more of practical knowledge rather than only focusing on theory.
What would you advice someone planning to do BBI?
— I would say Banking and Insurance forms a backbone of the economy and these sectors will continue to flourish offering great career opportunities.
Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming BMS / BAF / BBI / BFM / BMM / BBA students?
— There is a lot to learn and lot to share being a representative of your class . The wisdom of life according to me is keep learning from your mistakes and it’s okay to be wrong as long as you want to correct them.
-Accordingly the competition should be healthy and should be taken in a positive manner.
-Enjoy college life while learning about course. There is a lot to be learned and explored.
