Tell us about yourself?
I come from an educated background, wherein academics and integrity play a very important role. The main reason I joined the course is because of the growing possibilities in both the sectors i.e. banks and insurance.
How does it feel to be the Class Representative of the class?
Being the class representative gives me a sense of responsibility and helps me in my overall growth as a person. I have been the CR of my class for 2 years. My professors wanted me to lead the class which acted as a motivation factor.
What do you mean by leadership? Tell us about a time / describe a situation when you have proved you have better leadership skills.
Leadership is all about how you conduct yourself. A good leader has to be a good strategist, a good innovator, a good communicator and should be competent enough to take viable actions at the right time. Being a sport person, i have had various opportunities to prove my leadership skills in the game of football and volleyball for my junior college.
What are the most important values you demonstrate as a leader?
Strategic, Action, Integrity and Love for what I do.
Does a leader need to be motivated? How can leaders maintain themselves to stay motivated?
A leader is a source of motivation for many people working with him, but to be a source of motivation the leader also should be motivated to conduct the task. Self-motivation is possible only when a person feels confident about himself. It is the subconscious mind working towards pushing the body towards its highest potential. If the mind knows what it is capable of… the person is automatically self-motivated.
What is the most difficult part of being a leader?
A leader needs to change his approach according to the people he works with. The most difficult part arises when the leader needs to be harsh with a person even if he doesn’t want to. The second difficult part is a constant need to show excellence in every work the leader does.
What is your greatest strength and weakness as a leader?
Strength-Autocratic, extremely professional attitude, dynamic thinking, and a never ending wish to learn. Weakness- lack of time management skills.
According to you, what is BAF, BBI, BFM all about?
All the above mentioned courses are actually choices provided to students to explore their potential in the sector of their interest. BBI is all about enhancing your knowledge of the entire finance sector, concentrating more on banking and insurance.
As a student, what changes would you like to bring in Indian education system?
The current Indian system is horrible. The curriculum does not give the students a chance to grow their creativity. It concentrates more on theory rather than practical wherein it should be the other way around. We need to expand our outlook on the current system. However over the past few years we have felt a slight change in the system.
What would you advise someone planning to do BBI ?
I would advise them not to only stick to bookish knowledge and as a staunch advice I would tell them to take up various other certification or diploma cources along with his/her graduation.
Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming BBI students?
Wisdom of life- learn from the past, work your present and act for your future.
Your feedback for BBI.co.in?
It gives good amount of information on the current financial scenario of the country.
